The current Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers (SPWiR) is a historical continuation of the statutory goals of the two previous associations of inventors, which have been working on behalf of the whole country. It has 10 local branches and it consists on about 1450 inventors and 65 Supporting Members.
The main Association?s statutory tasks:
- inspiring the development of innovation/inventiveness in the country
- promoting Polish inventions in the country and abroad
- protection of Inventors? and Rationalizers? copyright
- searching conditions for the implementation and dissemination of innovation
All the statutory tasks are fulfilled increasingly by SPWiR with the support of many central state Institutions, especially the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Environment.
Taking into consideration that Polish companies are interested in innovations presented abroad, the Association has organized the International Warsaw Invention Show IWIS for 5 years. Last year, there were exhibitors from 23 countries from Europe, Asia and the Middle Eastern region in the IWIS and they presented approximately 600 innovative solutions.
